Flood
When flood events exceed conventional response capacity, Fire & Flood deploys high-capacity pumping systems and integrated barrier solutions that move, divert, and control water at scale. Operating within established Incident Command System (ICS) structures, our systems protect transportation corridors, municipal assets, critical infrastructure, essential community facilities, and heritage sites.

Flood events are time-sensitive. Fire & Flood deploys modular flood barrier systems supported by sustained high-capacity pumping, operating independently of grid power and fixed infrastructure. Our systems move water over kilometres of challenging terrain to support barrier deployment, helping protect critical infrastructure and communities during extreme precipitation events.
Integrated barrier systems eliminate the need for thousands of sandbags, reducing labour requirements, deployment times, and environmental impact without compromising protection. Real-time monitoring sensors support operational awareness, while the same high-capacity pumping systems used to fill barriers can also provide controlled water diversion and active dewatering throughout the incident.

Flood events are becoming more frequent and more costly across Canada. The 2013 Alberta floods forced more than 100,000 evacuations and caused over $5 billion in damages. In 2024 alone, a single storm caused $940 million in insured losses in Toronto, and Hurricane Debby remnants resulted in $2.8 billion in insured losses across 55 Quebec communities. After witnessing events like these firsthand, Fire & Flood Founder Terry Raymond built this company designed to provide the water movement capacity that communities and infrastructure operators need when conventional response is not enough.
Fire & Flood deploys a range of temporary flood protection systems, selecting the most effective solution based on site conditions, flood behaviour, operational objectives, and client requirements.
Temporary Flood Barriers provide rapidly deployable, reusable protection for communities, critical infrastructure, transportation corridors, and industrial facilities. Designed for large-scale flood events, they eliminate thousands of sandbags, reduce labour and deployment times, adapt to varying terrain, and deliver reliable flood protection while minimizing environmental impact and long-term operating costs.
Water-Gate® Flood Barriers are self-deploying, reusable water-filled barriers that use the force of floodwater for rapid deployment without pumps, anchors, or heavy equipment. Lightweight and highly adaptable, they provide effective flood protection, water diversion, temporary reservoirs, and emergency pumping sources while significantly reducing personnel requirements and deployment time.
